Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR)

A new CDC MMWR report shows Rhode Island child care programs that reopened in June had limited spread of COVID-19 when strictly following requirements from the Rhode Island Department of Health Services. Child care programs were required to limit interactions between classes, require adults to wear masks, screen adults and children for symptoms, and enhance cleaning and disinfecting of frequently touched surfaces. The limited spread of infection was likely due to intensive health department contact tracing efforts and child care programs’ adhering to state requirements. Read the full report:
