I am struggling with the shortcodes for wps-forum-show-posts I am trying to create a forum which only members can add a topic/message to and only that member can edit the post. The current code is [wps-forum-show-posts slug="member-boats-for-sale" author_link="0" include_posts="1" include_replies="0" include_comments="0" show_author="0" show_snippet="1" snippet_length="100" show_date="0" title_length="100"] This has three problems It never shows the complete message even when you click on the "read", members cannot change the text as the spanner never appears, and for me clicking "read" gives me the option to add a reply which I do not want (and maybe non-Admins don't get this). Any suggestions? Thanks.
Something weird here. If I use the code to show an "old" forum then clicking the "read" brings up a page with the full text of the post but if I use the code to show a newly created forum (with all defaults in place for that forum) then clicking read brings up just that post but still shortened and with "read" at the end.
I created a new forum yesterday and it did not work with that. Today I deleted that forum and created another. It failed in the same way (clicking "read" did not produce the full text) but if I changed the slug to an old forum clicking "read" produced the full text.
WHen you say title and slug have to be the same, where is "title"? The parameters don't have title in them.
Thanks for your help this afternoon.
There is still something stange going on as it is now not working again. I did a number of things which I have now undone but back to the problem where clicking "read" does not produce the full text.
I will work on it a bit more inc creating another new forum and page.
This is spooky...
I just changed "wps-forum-show-posts" to "wps-forum" and previewed the page, then put it back to "wps-forum-show-posts" and now it works again. Caching? Maybe, or is some other cookie/variable not getting reset correctly.
